Easy Hi-Q Recorder

Most of the Windows users remember the old System Recorder application. It's a program that can record sound that comes from the microphone or the line-in connector. But even though the program is extremely popular, it lacks a lot of features, one of them being the impossibility to use certain codecs or to change the audio quality settings. Fortunately, there is a replacement for Sound Recorder and that's the program Easy Hi-Q Recorder. It's a software that can record sound using a microphone or a line-in device in a wide range of audio formats. It continues from where Sound Recorder left off, filling up all the gaps left behind.

The program is very easy to install and can run on most versions of Microsoft Windows. The user should pay special attention to the installation process, as it asks the user in the end to restart the computer and selecting this options by mistake will close all the opened programs and the user might loose his work if he hasn't saved it. The space occupied on the hard disk is about 9 MB, so running the program on smaller hard disks and even on slower configurations shouldn't be a problem.

The interface has a graphical aspect and it displays some information regarding the free hard disk space, the space occupied by recordings and also the audio format and quality settings. Clicking the Options button will bring up a window containing numerous settings, from which the user can set the recording format, can schedule a recording, for starting automatically at a certain moment in time, and can also set the maximum file size after which the recording will be split. Despite the fact that the number of settings is quite impressive, using them shouldn't be a problem for any user because everything is highly intuitive.

While the recording is in progress, Easy Hi-Q Recorder will display in real time some information, like the size of the recording, the sound level on each of the two channels and the elapsed time.
